Ward Law Firm, PLLC was established in 2006 and has been serving clients throughout Tennessee and across the Mid-South since its inception. Attorneys in the firm are admitted to practice in all courts in Tennessee including the Tennessee Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
The firm has been involved in a number of high profile cases but has never forgotten that every case is the most important case to that individual client. The firm is proud that nearly eighty percent of all new business comes from referrals of satisfied clients.
Jeff Ward is an honors graduate from the University of Memphis where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Political Science. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law. Mr. Ward worked in law enforcement and security for more than a decade before beginning his legal career. Mr. Ward has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis where he has taught Constitutional Law, Evidence and Law and Society. Mr. Ward has serve as the Special Judge for the City of Millington, TN. Mr. Ward currently serves as Chairman of the Tipton County Friends of the NRA, Past Board Member of the Tipton Arts Council, Past Board Member of Tipton Cares, Past Board Member of Tipton County Clay Busters, Past Chairman of the Tipton County Republican Party, and volunteers his time for various Veterans and animal rescue groups. Mr. Ward enjoys writing, target shooting, collecting all forms of art and completed his first 5k this summer.
Mr. Ward’s legal practice includes civil litigation, business and contract law, family law, criminal law and bankruptcy. Mr. Ward has represented a number of government entities and regularly represents candidates for public office. Mr. Ward currently serves as General Counsel for the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women.
Lauren Raynor graduated from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a minor of Speech Communications. While attending the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Lauren was active in Student Congress, Speech and Debate, Psy Chi and a number of other academic organizations. In 2008, Lauren received several awards in student congress such as Best Delegate and Second Best Bill passed through Student Congress. Lauren was also very active in the Speech in Debate team where she served as a caption from 2005 until 2009 at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Lauren participated on the 2007 first place IPDA team. She went on to win the Season Long Varsity National Championship award in 2009. Lauren served as the Pi Kappa Delta president from 2008 until 2009, and holds approximately 100 awards and recognitions for her time on the Speech and Debate team.
The University of Arkansas at Monticello recognized Lauren in 2009 with awards such as Who’s Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences Honor for Outstanding Graduate in Political Science, founding member of Psi Chi, and Co-writer of the Student Government Constitution.
From 2009 until 2012 Lauren attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hills, Michigan, where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence with a concentration in Litigation. Lauren served as the President of the Moot Court Organization, the Moot Court Teaching Assistant, and competed on the Moot Court National team. Lauren also participated in writing legal briefs for the Michigan Supreme Court while the Court visited Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and the Red Lining to White Lining project that emphasized diversity in Detroit during Segregation. While Lauren competed in the 2012 National Moot Court Competition, her team was awarded with the 4th Best Brief in the 6th District Competition and were named Semi-Finalist in the Competition. Lauren was awarded with the Certificate of Merit in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Senior Recognition Award, and Service Award.
While at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lauren concentrated on Litigation classes such as Alternative Dispute Resolution, Negotiations, Pre-Trial Skills, Trial Skills, Moot Court, and Animal Law.
Shirley Ward attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and the National Institute for Paralegal Arts and Sciences. Ms. Ward serves as paralegal and office manager. Ms. Ward was elected twice as the President of the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women. Ms. Ward currently serves as the National Campaign Chairman for the National Federation of Republican Women. She has served on the National Nominating Committee for the National Federation of Republican Women. She currently serves as the state Campaign Chairman and Chairman of the Nominating Committee for the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women. Ms. Ward has served as the President of the Tipton County Republican Women where she was named Republican Women of the Year. She served as Co-Chairman for Bush/Cheney 2000 and 2004. Ms. Ward has served as County Chairman for a number Gubernatorial, Senate, Congressional and State House candidates. Ms. Ward is the past Co-Chairman of the Tipton County Republican Party and the 8th Congressional District Republican Coalition.
Ms. Ward was in the first graduating class of the Volunteer State Excellence in Public Service Series and later served on its Advisory Board. She has served on the Board of the Tipton County Chamber of Commerce where she was named Director of the Year for two consecutive years, and the President of the Tipton County Board for the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Ms. Ward is the Past President of the Covington Exchange Club, the Past President of the Tipton County Business and Professional Woman and the Past President of the South Tipton Business Club.
Brittany Bailey serves as the firm’s receptionist and legal assistant. She is a graduate of Abeka Academy and has attended Dyersburg State and Southwest Community College and is currently attending Concorde College. Brittany enjoys hunting, fishing and target shooting. She is an animal lover and is involved working to rescue abandoned animals.
C.J. Petty is a process server and investigator for the firm. C.J. is a graduate of Covington High School and is a Criminal Justice Major at Dyersburg State. C.J. enjoys collecting firearms and target shooting.
Doug Ward is a retired insurance adjuster with more than forty years of experience. Mr. Ward is former United States Army Ranger who served during the Korean War. He studied law at LaSalle Extension Services based in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Ward has attended numerous schools and seminars on personal, injury, property damage, arson and accident reconstruction. He keeps busy serving at the firm’s ambassador of good will and handyman.
John Evans serves as the firm’s Chief Investigator. He is a graduate of Jonesboro High School. John has more than ten years of experience in security and investigations. John is recognized as a firearms expert with twenty five years in the firearm business. John is involved in state and national issues related to the 2nd Amendment. John serves as Co-Chairman of the Tipton County Friends of the NRA. John is a motorcycle enthusiasts and donates his time to philanthropic endeavors for veterans and law enforcement groups. John enjoys hunting, camping and generally any outdoor activity.
